... why this buck apparently did not shed its antlers from year to year like the other males...  it had a penis, but its testicles were abnormally small... According to noted deer biologists, the testicular deformity probably affected the buck's ability to produce testosterone in normal levels... Buck fawns that are castrated will either never develop antlers or grow antlers that remain in velvet, depending upon the fawn's stage of development...
