Drought Taking Toll On Arkansas Deer July 23, 2012, KUAR
... Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Biologist Cory Gray says the drought has destroyed many of the animals' food sources. “When it's hot and dry like this the palatability of the food, of the native vegetation, is reducing,” says Gray. “We're seeing more deer move in and we've had more and more calls about deer moving into urban areas feeding on people's flowers, and things like that because they're watered and taken care of compared to the forested land outside that we're just not getting the rain.”
