Rescuers reunite fawn with its mother October 28, 2012 California, Napa Valley Register
... A local Napa resident and his wife had found a fawn alone in their garden...  the concerned couple assumed the deer was orphaned [does will leave their fawns in a hiding place from predators and return only occasionally during the day so as not to attract predators] ... the baby was injury-free and in excellent condition.... Armed with the knowledge that mother deer will almost always find their young in the exact spot they leave them in, we decided this baby boy needed to go back home ... Wildlife Rescue Center of Napa County
