The Man Who Made California Safe for Mountain Lions May 30, 2012

In some 30 years of hunting deer, [Sen. John Dunlap, D-Napa] had seen a lion just twice. He wanted the chance to see another one ... but worried the species might perish before he had the chance... Initially, Dunlap sought the support of the state Fish and Game Commission but quickly realized he’d better look elsewhere: “They were pretty much hunter dominated.”
