Deer, bear and turkey feed heavily on the fall crop to fatten for the winter. In years when acorns are scarce, the wildlife will be forced to wander farther and turn to other types of nuts that are part of the Mast crop. Beach nut, hickory and walnuts ... Despite plentiful rains, the acorn crop that began falling last month is scarce this year.
