The deer population after legal hunting would be estimated at 511,000, but ... poaching and private deer management ... after all the hunting is over will be 379,800 ... But ... Epizootic hemorrhagic disease that will kill 25-30% of the remaining herds that means 113,940 will die ... leaving 265,860 deer ....deer killed in traffic, that die of old age, birthing mortalities rates, and predator kills, this number varies but putting this number at 10% is a low estimate, so 26,586 leaving the deer population at 239,274 in the state of Kansas.
