Currently, there is a standalone bill sitting with the U.S. Senate that would prohibit the Secretary of Agriculture from restricting the use of dogs in deer hunting activities within the Kisatchie National Forest unless certain conditions are met ... The bill was passed by the House of Representatives as part of the Sportsman's Heritage bill, and Fleming said that they are currently trying to piggyback the bill along with another 'must-pass' bill to allow dog deer hunting to continue this year. 'If the decision (by the Secretary of Agriculture) isn't overturned in the next two weeks, the decision is becoming permanent,'
