...  according to Larry Dapsis, deer tick project coordinator with the Cape Cod Cooperative Extension.  There are 18 stations where corn will be used to attract deer.  
The deers' fur is treated with the insecticide permethrin when the animals come in contact with the corn dispenser... Ticks that crawl across the deer's treated fur are killed ...  U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, which sponsored the project...
