... Deer don't have a hero. Thanks to the National Wild Turkey federation, I had to stop on Parker Road the other day and wait for a flock to cross the road. There isn't a similar national group watching out for deer... Andrew McKean ... predicts a coming, continent-wide white-tail apocalypse.... risk factors: Habitat loss from maturing forests. We've already seen this in Michigan. It's why the traditional "Up North" deer-hunting spots have so few deer...People who hate deer (because the beasts are standing on their front lawns) demanding that wildlife officials do something to get them out of the suburbs....
