Legislation would allow Michigan farmers to shoot more deer with fewer hassles September 23, 2011 Michigan
... state Sen. John Proos, R-St. Joseph, to again propose legislation that would allow farmers to shoot more deer with fewer hassles ... would would allow up to 15 farm workers to be included under a Department of Natural Resources deer damage shooting permit.... [currently 3 employees]..."We've seen a decrease in the number of hunters and of families passing along that (hunting) tradition," Proos said, "and we've seen populations of deer increase." ...The Michigan Department of Natural Resources has not yet fashioned a position statement on the proposed legislation..."We do have a couple of concerns."
