Outdoors: Real deer hunters don't take the bait  April 20, 2011  Michigan  Hunting

....Yet people who hunt deer three days a year call themselves hunters. And, incredibly, many of them expect to have the same success rate as hunters who spend several weeks in the woods each fall. Such a premise is behind an effort by some hunters to persuade the Michigan Natural Resources Commission to reinstate deer baiting in the Lower Pennisula . . .
when we passed Proposal G in 1994, it said that wildlife management decisions should be based on the best available science and what's best for the resource. If the NRC decided to reinstate baiting, it would be a perversion of that mandate.....Every deer biologist in Michigan thinks baiting and feeding deer is not just a bad idea but dangerous.
