A desirable and healthy deer population would be between 10 and 35 deer per square kilometer, Keys [ Rob Keys, a landscape ecologist and assistant professor of science at Cornerstone University] said.... The deer density at Blandford corresponds with having 52 to 78 deer per square kilometer ... That was determined by studying the number of deer pellet piles found on the property and by placing five infrared trail cameras at random locations ...
