Deer population explodes but deer-car accidents still drop - by 25 percent October 7, 2011 Michigan

Deer-car accidents have dropped by 25 percent despite a 34 percent increase in the deer population according to figures released by the City of Rochester Hills today. Figures are based on two-year comparisons....“The distinct variable that has set Rochester Hills apart from other areas has been the intense driver awareness campaign that was championed by their Deer Management Advisory Committee (DMAC),” states Mike Hartner, Parks and Forestry Director.
