Here's the situation: 15 men and one woman versus Meridian Township's deer herd, and as of Thursday morning, the deer were holding their own....In the next couple of months, coinciding with the state's regular archery and firearms seasons, the Meridian hunt will proceed on seven township properties (to see a map, go to www.meridian.mi.us). ... One thing that has surprised Greenway [the township's parks and land management coordinator] is the lack of protest against the hunt. I can count the complaints on one hand,"
