Michigan DNR: Hunters killed fewer deer in 2010 June 14, 2011 Management MLive.com,By Howard Meyerson

Hunters killed 418,000 deer during the season, a 6 percent decrease from 2009. The survey, sent to more than 50,000 hunters, also showed that hunters spent 9.6 million days in the field. Over those 3 years hunter participation was down 3%, and the deer take was down 15%.
