Deer populations within the 53,000-acre military training area are not managed with a priority of producing trophy-caliber bucks and they aren’t managed with goals of maximizing hunting opportunity or harvest...  by implementing relatively light hunting pressure compared to most deer management areas in the state.... information from the surrounding permit areas and aerial surveys suggest the deer population to be between 22 and 36 deer per square mile for pre-fawning and post-fawning densities, respectively.... the deer herd at Camp Ripley could likely be sustained without harvesting animals,
