The Duluth deer hunt meant to reduce the city's growing population of nuisance deer was approved tonight, but that's not the end of the fight for verification. A spokeman for the alliance also said it is important to hunt bucks as well as does, because the bucks have caused damage to both plants and by rubbing against trees.

Councilor Jay Fosle accused the hunt as being a "trophy hunt", where hunters can take advantage of the system to get big bucks, and then can register the animals online.
