... An important part of maintaining high deer populations is providing the proper food and habitat. Wildlife habitat is being lost as more land is subdivided, bringing houses, people, livestock, pets and other intrusions. Landowners can help offset this loss of wildlife habitat by growing a diversity of vegetation that provides food and cover for wildlife like deer. Cover is needed to provide deer with places to hide from predators, and to provide travel corridors and shelter.... [whitetail] Does typically range 150-300 acres while bucks range 250-800 acres.
