...A 2011 survey done by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service showed that 13.7 million people over the age of 16 (6 percent of U.S. population) hunted that year and they spent $38.3 billion on equipment and other hunting expenses. That averages $2,800 spent per hunter. In 2011, 680,000 jobs with $26.4 billion in salaries were created by hunters’ spending...  these hunting dollars, 7.2 billion in contributions went to state conservation efforts...
