Mostly affected are the pronghorn antelope and deer. With record breaking snowfalls and recent frigid temperatures... Since railroad tracks are free of snow many of the animals have congregated along the tracks leading to hundreds of collisions with trains.

"Unfortunately this is one of those times where the declines in populations are likely to be steep,"
