... Combined with the mule deer season, hunters took more than 50,580 deer during the 2014 seasons, which ended Thursday. That compared with 48,345 in 2013 and 86,609 in 2011... Mule deer hunters took 9 percent more bucks last year than they did during the 2013 season. That was an increase of 621 for a total of 7,497 bucks... Hunters took 1,663 antlerless mule deer (down 4 percent), the lowest number in 35 years...

... Nebraska Game and Parks Commission predicted the deer herd increase after the 2012 disease outbreak, which dramatically reduced the population...  in 2015 they will probably increase the number of permits they give out ...
