It is not uncommon for a one acre deer food plot to supply the same amount of food as one hundred acres of average forest browse. Deer do need the woody browse, especially during the more critical late fall and winter months... forest roads and trails can be utilized as food plots... It is easier to establish and maintain clover and grasses along the wider roads...
