Coyote predation may affect deer population  February 24, 2011  New York  

Preliminary conclusion is that scat studies followed by DNA analysis show the trend in the diet of coyotes has changed from about 80 percent small animals with 20 percent deer in the 1950s, 60s, 70s, to a much higher percentage of deer.
