... the village board voted unanimously to conduct a study. 40 oak tree seedlings will be planted in 5 different locations; 20 will protected by fences and the other 20 will be unprotected and open to the deer. After ten days, the site will be studied to see what was eaten by the deer and other animals....“People have always said we need to look at the deer numbers. Deer numbers are not important. What is important is what they are doing in the environment, how much they are eating, and I will measure how much they are eating over time,” says Bernd Brossey....
