Judge rejects challenge to Cayuga Heights deer plan September 14, 2011 New York, Ithaca Journal

A judge ruled Wednesday in favor of the trustees regarding a lawsuit challenging the village deer-management program. State Supreme Court Judge Phillip Rumsey rejected claims of a dozen residents that the board's plan was arbitrary and capricious, ...The village will begin by surgically sterilizing 20 to 60 does within two years then culling the rest.... a victory for the petitioners, [was that] "The judge's ruling, which specifically blocks the use of net and bolt killing, is a major step forward toward our goal of protecting this community,"
