... The Game and Fish Department will continue its hunter-harvested surveillance program this deer season by testing for chronic wasting disease and bovine tuberculosis... the focus of the surveillance will be in the central part of the state ...  with the downturn in the state’s deer population, Grove said it’s possible there have been other deer that have died as a result of CWD, but not reported...  the deer density in that part of the state is about eight animals per square mile ...
