Wildlife recreation adds $3.6 billion to Ohio economy September 22, 2012 Canton Repository
... About 35 percent of Ohioans 16 or older — or about 3.2 million people — enjoyed wildlife-viewing in 2011, and about 1.6 million residents of the same age group hunted and fished. Wildlife watching includes closely observing, photographing and feeding wild animals. But the popularity of wildlife viewing has dipped, while hunting and fishing shows gains. The number of hunters and anglers in the state increased 8 percent between 2006 and 2011, while the number of wildlife watchers fell by 7 percent.
