...According to an article in Outdoor Life magazine, the whitetail deer population will decrease “between 10 percent to 25 percent in the next few years.” ...Here’s part of a response to McKean’s article by biologist Mike Tonkovich, deer specialist for the Ohio Division of Wildlife: “This is the closest thing to fiction that I’ve ever read,” Tonkovich wrote in an email redirected this way....The article, penned by executive editor Andrew McKean, asserts that “habitat loss, an ever-increasing and unmanaged predator population and a number of other factors are contributing to a nationwide crash”
