... In 2010, council, in a 4-3 vote, passed an ordinance that would have allowed bow hunting of deer on parcels of land measuring at least 5 acres.  However, Broadview Deer, a deer advocacy group, gathered enough signatures to place the ordinance on the ballot, and voters overturned it... The residents said they were also concerned about Lyme disease, which is spread by a deer tick.
