...Prior to the Deer Preservation Act appearing on the November ballot, city officials will consider instituting a pilot program for crossbow hunting in remote areas. And, in the event voters shoot down the proposed ban on lethal measures to curb the burgeoning deer population, Public Works Director Jim Stanek plans to continue negotiating with officials from the U.S. Department of Agriculture for a “pay-as-you-go” herd-culling component to the city’s comprehensive deer management program....
