Solon deer culling nearing goal March 13, 2012 Ohio, Plain Dealer, By Thomas Jewell,

In less than 45 days, nearly 260 deer have been removed from the city through the reinstatement of its culling program ... beginning in 2005, when White Buffalo culled 602 deer at a total cost of about $208,000, followed by 400 in 2006, costing the city about $192,000. But as the deer herd was thinned, the cost per deer harvested increased. The number of deer culled in 2007 and 2008 dropped to 150 and 175 respectively, followed by 250 in 2009 before the program was scrapped.
