A group of residents have launched a petition drive to place a “Deer Preservation Act” initiative on the ballot, to “buck” the city's proposed wildlife management program. A grassroots, volunteer group known as Solon Deer has formed. “After five years, more than $807,000 — not including legal fees — and the massacre of nearly 1,600 deer, Solon has witnessed rebounding deer populations, as predicted,”
