... More than 1.3 million hunters bought licenses in 1982, the most ever in Pennsylvania, but only 943,583 bought them in 2012, a 28 percent decline.  License sales have been steadily dropping nationally, too, since the early 1980s.  A Pennsylvania Game Commission survey shows that in Pennsylvania many hunters either grew too old for the sport, found other interests, no longer had time for hunting or no longer had access to good hunting spots...
