Deer hunting season kicks off Monday November 22, 2012 Pennsylvania,

Monday is the start of firearm's deer season in Pennsylvania ... Last season, hunters in Pennsylvania harvested 336,200 deer ... "[The 2011-12] antlered deer harvest is slightly above average harvest since 2005, when the Game Commission began efforts to stabilize deer populations in most of the state," Roe said [PGC Director] That stabilization effort is a means to keep the population of deer in balance with deer health; deer-human conflicts; and a healthy, regenerating forest. That balance has not yet been reached according to forest assessments of state game lands.
