Dreaded deer killer Chronic Wasting Disease arrives in Pa. October 23, 2012 Pennsylvania, Lancaster Newspapers-
...It may also put more pressure on Pennsylvania's 1,100 captive deer farms, a popular cottage industry among Lancaster County's Plain sects. Those farms have approximately 23,000 deer fenced in around the state.  The deer are raised largely to sell to fenced "game preserves" where people pay to shoot deer, many with large racks.
Of the 23 states where CWD has been found, 13 have the disease only in captive herds
