... a deer found dead in the Rices Landing area was found to have died from epizootic hemorrhagic disease... the 2007 outbreak was centered mostly on Washington and Greene counties, while the current outbreak has been a little more widespread, with cases in six counties...  be on the lookout for sickly or dead deer, particularly those found near water sources.  They can be reported by calling the commission’s Southwest Region Office at 724-238-9523.

A Georgia research lab confirmed last week that epizootic hemorrhagic disease was responsible for the death of a deer in a Philadelphia suburb. The doe was among 19 deer so far found dead on the grounds of the Graterford State Correctional Institute in Skippack, Montgomery County... An EHD information link is posted on the Game Commission's website at
