...The lethal reduction phase, as it’s called, of the white-tailed deer management plan/Environmental Impact Statement, reduced the park’s deer population by 600, during nighttime operations from November 2010 to March 2011....The deer are charged with preventing the ability of native forests to grow and mature and are also linked to diminishing the habitat for a variety of native wildlife species and trees.
