This season's Tennessee deer harvest ranks best in five years January 29, 2011 Memphis Commercial Appeal

... the total number of deer killed in the Volunteer State during the 2011-12 hunting season stands at 167,305. That total is better than last year's mark by more than 4,000 and the highest in a five-year span by about 2,800 ... Giles County in middle Tennessee produced the highest deer harvest in the state for the third straight year with a total of 5,377. But the next two counties on the list are western counties
