New Rules for Residents to Manage Deer Populations with Hunting, the 82nd Legislative session July 10, 2011 My West Texas

Those interested in managing the mule deer population can receive permits starting Sept. 1 after a bill filed by Seliger passed... Under the law, the commission would set bag limits for each permit issued but would allow for residents to manage the population through hunting. Hunting of the species still would not be permitted in an enclosed area designed for the temporary containment of deer.
