The National Park Service estimates the whitetail deer population in Harpers Ferry lies between 80 to 260 per square mile ... Due to the movement around the town's boundaries and seasonal behavior of the animals, no exact population count was established... Between September and December, nine hunters harvested 28 does within the boundaries of Harpers Ferry ... "We will continue to watch over the deer and look at the population.
