... The fatal disease was detected here in 2002... Eradication failed miserably ... Illinois has worked hard and spent much since 2002 to limit the spread. The researchers say the prevalence rate in that state's management area remained at 1 percent in 2013.  Meanwhile, Michigan officials are killing deer in areas where three tested positive.
