DNR to blame for mismanaging deer herd December 29, 2011 Wisconsin, Chippewa Herald, Roger Mlsna

Did you know our DNR put a $2 price tag on each doe and fawn in many parts of Wisconsin?  When they decided the value of an antlerless deer was $2, they stooped to a new and unforgivable low. They have taken one of our state's greatest renewable natural resources and nearly destroyed it in many parts of the state ... The DNR says our kill is up about 3 percent from last year. What it is not telling you is that it is down nearly 50 percent from a few years ago and more than 50 percent in some northern units...
