Gun deer season gets under way across Wisconsin November 19, 2011 Wisconsin, Wisconsin Rapids Tribune

...Kris Belling, wildlife supervisor for the West Central District, added that the majority of the region is 20 percent over its expected level of deer, meaning the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is allowing for unlimited antlerless deer permits this season, at a cost of $2 per permit following the free one received with the purchase of a deer license... There's been a slow decline in hunting nationally, but I think we will be pretty close to where we were last year....
