Wisconsin's deer czar works to put 'fun back in hunting' November 12, 2011 Wausau Daily Herald

Wisconsin hunters long have complained about the Department of Natural Resources' management of deer and practically all other wildlife. But the complaints have grown to a howl over the past decade as hunters have killed fewer and fewer deer and begun giving up the sport.... main complaints... : The regulations and season structure are too complex, Public forestland is mismanaged.  Southern Wisconsin hunters are concerned about chronic wasting disease.   Northern Wisconsin hunters are concerned about a growing population of predators, mainly wolves and bears.
