DNR ramps up outreach to turn around loss of hunters November 17, 2012 Wisconsin, Wausau Daily Herald
... An estimated 550,000 state residents will buy licenses to participate in the hunt this year, down from 644,000 in 2000, according to a 2011 hunting trends analysis by the University of Wisconsin-Madison. By 2030, license sales are projected to slide more than 27 percent, dipping below 400,000.... Men between 35 and 55 are hunting at much lower rates than just 10 years ago...
