A tough time for mule deer February 12, 2014 Wyoming, Billings Gazette
... The cold weather has thrust the deer into a negative energy situation; meaning they can’t eat enough when the ambient temperature is 20 degrees or lower to replace the calories they are burning to keep warm. The deer are drawing heavily on their fat reserves to get through this cold snap and won’t be able to replace those lost reserves until the temperatures moderate... Try not to disturb the deer and keep from stressing them any more...
