... A decline of the state mule deer population from 544,000 to 350,000 between 2000 and 2013 is alarming.  Grizzly bears get more attention. Elk have more fans... But it is apparent no one wants to envision a Wyoming without mule deer...  females must give birth to 66 fawns per 100 adults to sustain herd levels... The birth rate fell short of 66 in nine of the last 13 years...
