BLM to fertilize gas drilling area to help deer August 25, 2011 Wyoming, Billings Gazette

The US Bureau of Land Management is moving ahead with plans to add fertilizer to the sagebrush country in and near a gas field in western Wyoming. The goal is to improve the growth of natural winter forage for mule deer. A study released last year showed numbers of wintering mule deer in the area were down as much as 60 percent compared to several years earlier.
