Volunteers inspect a mule deer carcass to determine its age and sex recently while conducting a past deer mortality survey near Pinedale. This year's hard winter killed more deer in western Wyoming than the Wyoming Game and ...Preliminary results show the Sublette deer herd lost between 45 and 60 percent of its mule deer fawns and the Wyoming Range herd lost as many as 75 percent of its fawns. Those are some of the worst losses recorded in the Wyoming Range herd since 1990, according to a Game and Fish release.
