A study painstakingly counted the number of deer hit by cars in the Edmonton area between 2003 and 2007. EDMONTON - A University of Alberta researcher has determined where Edmonton ...The collision sites formed “fairly striking patterns,” Boyce said. The most dangerous roads often led through rural stretches, had high speed limits and high vegetation right up to the roadside that allowed deer to surprise drivers. The solutions are simple: Allow better sight lines along the roads and put more warning signs in those areas, Boyce said.
